Erasmus Mobility Program at ESOGU

With 7 faculties, 3 vocational schools, 4 graduate schools, 11 research, development and innovation centres, Eskisehir Osmangazi University (ESOGU) is one of the leading state universities in central Anatolia. There are over 18.000 students and 1000 academic staff at ESOGU.

Considering that international and inter-institutional cooperation improves quality at institutional and scientific basis and increasing number of cooperation projects has a key role in our strategic planning, ESOGU aims at becoming a world class university.

European Union Education and Youth Programs facilitate the cooperation between universities at international level. Getting involved in these programs ESOGU will benefit from the cooperation opportunities which also improve the institutional quality.

ESOGU applied to European Commission for "Erasmus University Charter" in November 2004 and thus, Erasmus student and staff exchange program at ESOGU has been carried out since 2005.

ESOGU have also adapted the credit system to the "European Credit Transfer System" (ECTS) which contributes to student exchange activity and course equivalence.

ESOGU  graduates are given Diploma Supplements as of the spring semester of the 2005-2006 Academic Year.

ERASMUS stands for EuRopean Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students. It was named after the philosopher, theologian and humanist Desiderius Erasmus (1465 - 1536), who lived and worked in several countries in Europe, in quest of knowledge, experience and insights which only such contact with other countries could bring.
