Visit from Ambassador of Mexico to Ankara

Mexican Ambassador to Ankara José Luis Martinez y Hernandez made a courtesy visit to the Rectorate of Eskişehir Osmangazi University. Prof. Dr. Rifat Edizkan, Vice Rector of ESOGU,  Assoc. Dr. Ramazan Erdag, Rector Advisor, Assoc. Dr. Oytun Meçik, Rector Advisor and International Relations Institutional Coordinator Dr. Mahmut Sami İşlek welcomed the Ambassador. At the meeting held in the Rectorate Senate Hall, Ambassador Hernandez's accompanying Mexican Culture and Trade Attachés and ESOGU International Relations Unit team also took part.

At the meeting, International Relations Institutional Coordinator Dr. Mahmut Sami İşlek told Ambassador Hernandez about the current situation in the cooperation between ESOGU and Mexican higher education institutions and stated that they are taking initiatives to improve relations. He gave information about the "International Staff Week" planned to be held at ESOGU and invited Mexican Universities to the event.

Ambassador Hernandez, who received information about the education and research activities at ESOGU, stated that ESOGU is a large university with a large number of students. Stating that the cooperation between the universities of the two countries should be strengthened, Ambassador Hernandez underlined that cooperation can take place in three main areas: research, education, culture and art activities. Ambassador Hernandez emphasized that they attach special importance to joint cultural activities and that not only students but also university staff and artists should be included in inter-university mobility programs.
